So after thinking about it, I don't think TorrentFlux is right for me. It's nice, but not for me. I realized I wanted uTorrent only for Linux. So I just installed kTorrent. Reminds me of a young uTorrent.
It's also plugin based, so I'm sure they'll have many toys for it. So far, it barely scratches the CPU and has a resonable memory footprint at about 36MB. I'm trying it out now to see how well it does.
All it took in Ubuntu to install was clicking on the "Add/Remove..." under the Applications menu. I then typed "torrent" in the search bar. Selected "KTorrent" and it downloaded, configured and installed it for me!
Aaaaah. I think Brennan and Arik will say that describing that installation was relatively simple :)
Oh, and Brennan, they just released an update to WPA and WPA2! I just installed it, but I don't have a wireless NIC to test it on. So there ya go! If you download Ubuntu Dapper 6.06 Flight 6, and install all the updates, it should be good. I think :-P

Hey Roy,
Do you need a wireless nic? I have an extra one for an old computer that I retired. Let me know if you want to borrow it (probably forever).
Posted by: andrew at April 5, 2006 08:41 AMHehe. I actually have an extra one but I'm too damn lazy to put it in and ruin my setup. Wiring your network is still the best way to network a computer.
Posted by: roy at April 5, 2006 09:30 AMThanks for the update Roy. I'm still going to wait till the final version of Ubuntu Dapper is out though. In other news, I also have an extra wirless card lying around. Just thought I'd mention it.
