Ok, so for 2 straight days I went to bed thanks to alcohol. Is that healthy? Probably not. Was it fun? Hell ya! The drive up to Sandbanks was actually a breeze. Yes it was raining hard, but Mud and I had each bought a pair of walkie talkies and we were driving up with Ed and Lorie. We gave them a set and off we went. Chatting along the 3 hours. We even had call signs! Since Viv has revealed our super secret identities, I'll reveal them as well :-P I was "Big Bird," Mud was "Du Maurier", and Ed and Lorie were "Maverick" and "Goose."
One thing that I did notice that aside from making a Road Trip CD of fun music to listen to, bringing along recorded stand up comedies is actually even better! We laughed our asses off during the ride up. We had:
1. Dave Chappelle
2. Chris Rock
3. Russel Peters
We had to throw in Russel Peters or else the CRTC would've come after our ass for not having enough canadian content. Heh. Ok, so we make it to the site and sure enough, the people start arriving. Yes it was raining a bit on Friday and Saturday, but it wasn't that bad, and if you had a sweater on, the temperature was fine. We always ended the night with the campfire, and at the peak period (Saturday Night) there were 44 people there! Group sites rock. No stupid neighbors to bug us. One thing that people didn't bring was a big Ghetto blaster. So I parked my car near the fire and cranked up the tunes. Kept it on all night long. Battery was fine in case you ever try something like that.
Aside from the fires at night, we ate really well thanks to Viv and Linh's selection and during the day we just went to the beach and played Beach Volleyball. Oh, and I also got buried in the sand. Apparently, people love to bury guys in the sand, and then put boobs on them. Hmmm...guys, boobs? What's up with that?!? Hahahaha. I'ld also like to point out that nobody went swimming cause it was way too cold. Well except Kenny who went at 1 am and came back freezing. Yup. There's always that one person that goes swimming at night...in freezing water :-P
On our way back we travelled back with Linh and Viv and as well and gave them a set too. You can them "Chinatown" and "Cookie Monster." Thanks to their alertness we narrowly missed running over a turtle crossing the road. A TURTLE?! Talk about living dangerously.
Ok, now I'm back and ready to take on the week. I'm feeling good right now. Better get to bed soon.
