It seems weird, but I have "Ah-ha!" moments for expressions that I've heard all my life. Like "never look a gift horse in the mouth" - I never really got it until today. This is probably going to make me seem like an idiot, but not having ever looked in a horses mouth, or understood why you would do so, or hearing about anyone giving a horse to someone else, it always seems a bit of an odd expression.
Today for whatever reason I figured it out. "Never check the quality on a gift".
I'm not sure what caused this moment of clarity, but I'll accept them when ever they come. ;-)
It has been a while since my last travel update, so I figured that it's time. We've done a whole bunch in the last 3 ish years.
Our honeymoon, 2007 - east coast of Canada. I can't remember all the details of where we stayed / visited but here's a short list:
Hopewell Rocks, NB
Cabot Trail, NS
North Sydney, NS
Gros Morne National Park, NL
Tilting, NL on Fogo Island where you're so far east in Canada, they speak with Irish accents. ;-) (aside, we stayed with the Mayor and he took us out in the harbour to harvest some "burgy bits" for ice)
St. John's, NL
Peggys Cove, NS
