And even though the circumstances were that Mel missed her train and needed to stay at my place, I could have handled it better. I am in yet another triangular relationship, and somehow they are never equilateral. I am always at the apex, always the shortest line between two people, always the guilty fulcrum when one is up and the other down. And maybe I would give it all up to have a functional friendship. The party itself was great.
