Sat Feb 12 05 / 9:36 AM True forgiveness occurs when you don't want to forgive someone, but you do anyway. Of course, you have to truly mean it, and things should be returned to their original state afterwards. But nothing Tanya could say in an apology would make me feel like she actually valued my friendship, although her latest journal entry about me helped. I think you have to suffer to earn forgiveness. But would that make things as they were? I feel like the only way I would be completely comfortable with Tanya again would be if she and Sam split up indefinitely and irreparably, the way it was when he and I were friends. So maybe there is another issue at hand. I hate that when somebody is in the position to choose, they don't choose me. |
