Mon Nov 29 04 / 10:51 PM I got my first gift from a student today. A women who had gone on a scuba licensing trip brought me back a souvenir. It was only when she gave it to me that I remembered we had talked about her upcoming trip several weeks ago. I do not know if I will ever have the social grace to remember things like upcoming trips, to use names - especially Japanese ones - when talking to someone, or to not dread the Voice Room. But some days, like today, I feel really good at my job and a renewed desire to be a better groomed and gregarious person. |
