latest archive about email links yearbook japan photoblog wish list	Sat Apr 03 04 / 5:55 PM Friday was Renuka's birthday party, and as usual I was invited, but as usual a part of me assumed I wouldn't go. I find it so hard to be interested in new people, and to be interesting to them, to be liked. Shyness is a curse that relegates you to a quiet corner in the noisiest restaurant. But it's not Renuka's fault, and she deserves to have her friends about her on her birthday, and I have to accept some invitations if I ever hope to receive more. So I used my looks, and alcohol, and the common ground of having a blog, to mostly talk with the person across the table from me, and feel like I belonged. It mostly worked, and I had a good time. I was happy to be there for Renuka, and happy to be there for myself.
