From an email invitation to have my parents, brother, and boyfriend over for dinner, my mom created a family potluck party at my house with all the relatives, my favourite foods, and lots more presents. My mom's side of the family has these kinds of events for Thanksgiving and Christmas, taking turns hosting. But to have it for my birthday, with me hosting in a way, was special. I felt mature, but not old, very happy, surrounded by good wishes and great leftovers. Friday night James and Renuka and I went out for my birthday. James' birthday was two weeks before mine, and it was supposed to be a celebration for both of us. Everybody ended up acting like it was only for me, though, and I let them as usual. I felt badly for James, ashamed of myself, but still we had a good time. I see them so little, but they've been my friends for so long, I don't know why I do that to us. Definitely have to get out with them more. Starting with Halloween, we've got plans to go clubbing. I really love my birthday.
