Tue Jan 16 01 / 5:50 AM It finally happened, and even I couldn't have picked a better Monday. Last November's interview made it to the paper, and my picture and everyone's eyes were on the front page. My journal, this journal, and the face and the brain behind it, covered three pages. That's a lot of Lisa. Some might say, Well it just doesn't get any bigger, but I see it only as proof, finally, that I am On My Way. And you know where I'm headed. It is, of course, sweetly gratifying to think who can see me now. Relatives, teachers, friends, enemies, an entire past and present. I wonder what they all think. But the reaction of strangers is not so interesting as the reactions of those close to me. The journal I posted online as a catalyst for intimacy has always met its purpose, but this article, those pictures, are now serving to stimulate a hotter flame. It seems to have shown me in an even brighter light - a nova that has left them all momentarily stunned. Now that's cool. |
