second glances

I am the impartial observer that is tired of going unobserved.

I have given up my sins of omission. I have signed off on the days of never being anonymous enough. I am ready to be seen - to take looking into the realm of looking back. I may still flinch, but it will be from shyness and not from shame.

This is new-found honesty, not new-found morality. A criminal's glance traded for a devil's gaze; the criminal feared infamy, the devil fears obscurity.

Ask me a question, I will tell you no lies.

...

An angel cannot learn from experience, but the devil can dance wonderfully on the head of a pin.
