Sun Sep 24 00 / 3:33 AM I love my new futon and LazyBoy, and the way they match is such an unprecedented surprise. I love my lamp in one corner and the fireplace diagonally opposite. I love the zillions of cupboards and interestingly painted walls in my blue and white kitchen. I love the finished basement with the man on the shower curtain that scares me every time I walk past. I love washing machine and dryer, stainless steel everything, cool cutlery, colourful towels in ground floor washroom, magnetic shower liner in upstairs washroom, shiny smooth satin floors, walk in closet, queen size bed, silver lamp, yellow bookshelves, new duvet, tree, lots more. This house is me and mine. Numerically, most of the things in it are mine, and everything around it certainly is. I don't mind sharing stuff, but sharing space is something else; it's the difference between running parallel and perpendicular. Jen has moved in, but she is the wonderful absentee roommate. Janet has also arrived, and now she's the trendoid girl that lives top of the stairs on the left. She's the proto-friend that is hanging out with me here for the evening ... but she doesn't go home. She is home. She's in my home. Did it just hit me? |
