Dream #5

I've never been in a different time zone, but I'm sure I know what jet lag feels like.

I had this dream last night that I woke up three hours late for work. As it was easier to just blow off the whole day than show up late, I did exactly that. I stayed in my pyjamas and played a video game where the main character was a barefoot Samuel L. Jackson. The object of the game was to walk around the Grand Canyon and avoid getting shot by motion-sensing weaponry. The game itself was very low-tech; Samuel L. was bright brown and 8-bit.

When my alarm went off at its proper time of 6:51 am, I was utterly confused. Minus the video game, the dream was just so average and real that I was sure I had been awake and that it was mid-afternoon. I couldn't really remember what day it was either, but I figured it was likely that I had to go to work.

One of the bulbs in the bathroom had burnt out; as I was having my shower, the dimness added to the off-time perception I was experiencing. My father being away on vacation and subsequently not in the living room having his morning cigarette also contributed. It's the middle of the day now and I still don't believe the computer clock. Is it 2 o'clock already? Is it only 2 o'clock? I have dream lag.

I am still very very tired lately, but I just don't want to sleep. It's already August, I don't want any more nightlight to be burned.
