Wed Jun 28 00 / 3:40 PM This is the one where I reflect on the nearly six months written here. In between these covers was marked the beginning of a new year, a new century and a new millennium (as defined by a populace and not a calendar). My resolutions have been moderately successful. Though I haven't been pure as the driven snow for roundabout five years, I had my first real date, my first realized crush, my first firstmove. I didn't do as well as need be in school and probably can't renew my scholarship. Ashley moved to the city and, while I'm still no fiend, I get high a lot more than usual. Jen and I made plans to move out. Erron moved on, I continued in a relationship that still feels casual despite the months, I decided to make more friends. The year 2000 started living up to its zeroes: Chinese Year of the Dragon, a planetary alignment, an exceptioned leap year, the fail of the Y2K bug hype. Evidence of real water was found on Mars on June 22. The human genome was roughly sequenced in its entirety on June 26. Finally, a future to live in. Of some significance (if not most), I buy my first house at the age of twenty. Wrap-up and review. First I found courage. Then I found a heart. Now I find a home. The next book should have me finding a brain. |
