never goodbye, always see you later

My house is sold, and I am homeless with $40,000 in the bank. The last weekend of packing, storing, moving, and cleaning was so rushed I didn't get a chance to say goodbye. It wasn't just the best-organized house I've ever lived in; it was an entire phase of my life, encompassing and representing living on my own and relationships not based on lies.

I drove by after the new owners had moved in, saying a secretive and unsatisfying goodbye to someone who didn't know I was watching.
