Mon Apr 10 00 / 12:22 AM My mom always asks me what I've been eating when I have dreams like these. last night's dream: Mom, Mike and I were in the mountains at our cabin, getting ready to go back home. Mom was packing the car while Mike and I ran back inside to get drinks for the road trip. I wanted more than just the chocolate milkshake Mike handed me, though. I ran to the windows to get one last view for the ride. Out the window was a view of space. I was looking for a nice galaxy, but what we saw instead was a snakey red light phenomenon zipping around. Looking closer, there was a sea of these snakes. I put my head against the window glass and moved right through it, then kicked off the window sill out into space. My kick gave me enough momentum to head straight to Mars. I landed gently on Mars, but it wasn't friendly. There was a toad species there that was going to attack the Earth. They had a large cannon that they filled with a virus and shot at Earth; the snakes were the viruses that had missed their mark and grown up in space. I had to stop the toads, and that meant I had to get back to Earth. I jumped off Mars with enough force to send me on to Saturn. Saturn and its rings were spinning so fast that to land in its cloudy atmosphere meant an experience akin to being in a soapy washing machine. There were cartoonish people living here, and we talked, and they pointed me on my way to Jupiter. Jupiter wasn't even approachable. I knew its hugeness would crush me with its gravity, but as I approached it, the great god Jupiter appeared in a white robe and blew me away like a kiss in a palm. Me and Mike, who had been with me the whole time, decided to head to the next planet. Because of eccentric orbits and timing, the next best planet to hit was Uranus. As we crashed into the surface we laughed and screamed out "UR-ANUS!!!!!!!!" It was a moment. The surface looked different than what I remembered from pictures; maybe it had already been hit with the toads' virus. We blasted off again and headed for Earth. Fade to light streaming in the window. |
