March is supposed to come in like a lion and out like a lamb, or the other way around. Only I don't remember how March started out. All I know is that it has been raining for a few days, and I like it.

What I don't like is that it's already the end of March. When I think back to the leap day in February, it seems like a long time ago. But when I think of March, it doesn't feel like I've lived a whole month's time since then.

I've always wanted to be able to arch one eyebrow, maybe like Spock. Even with that aside, I usually exercise my brow muscles anyway because they have no real shape. Yes, this is a technique I saw on a late-night infomercial, but I stand by it.

However, I think I have been practising the whole cock-brow thing too hard, because lately it will just shoot up by itself and I can't make it relax. It doesn't look intriguing like Spock; it looks ridiculous. I know someone is going to see me doing this and will wonder just what is so interesting about the bus ad I'm reading that it warrants a brow raising. This is what happens when you wish for something, and get it.

I take this class about the philosophy of mind and truth. It was recorded for TV four years ago; the prof is still at the school, only the TAs have changed. My school isn't Ivy-league, but even that's a little out there.

In this week's taped lecture, the prof brought in his cat Weeble. He has been using her as examples in the philosophical problems he presents, and by bringing her in, I guess we get to see that she's not merely a working of his brain-in-a-vat.

Only, this is four years ago. This cat running around the classroom getting oohed and aahed at probably doesn't even remember this day; maybe she's not even living. I ran into the prof the other day, and he looks the same as on tape. Is Weeble still the same? Four years is longer to a cat than to a philosophy professor. But back then, they were a tribute to the adage that eventually, pets and owners start to look alike. I wanted to squeeze them both.
