There were two new people, and their presence let me walk around like I owned the place, because I had been there so much longer; I knew the ropes that they were getting strangled by. My outfit choice made me look inches taller, inches fitter, and miles more confident. Not only did the black jacket match the black shoes, but they were both velveteen. This can't be just a girl thing: clothes can make your day. Evidence to this credo is the dumpy attire I had on today, though it wasn't for lack of trying. Half my closet's secrets were out on the floor, but nothing was working. Standing, shivering, in unmatched underthings, I made the casual and previously realized observation that indeed, most of my wardrobe is in some shade of blue. I'd say around ninety percent. Bulky clothes reflected my blobby mood reflected my blechy body image, and the day bled on.
